So the dust has settled, at least temporarily, on last Thursdays momentous General Election. I've spent the last day or so trying to get the course of events straight in my head but I'm struggling so please bare with me. I'm going to whizz back to the last General Election in 2015 where I believe this all began. It seems that the electorate didn't take too well to Nick Clegg selling out students whose debts he promised to relieve them of by ending tuition fees. This was interesting because I didn't think anyone in this country previously gave a fig about students. I thought they were generally seen as lefty layabouts who should get a proper job. So the football season in England is over bar the Championship playoff at our temporary home this afternoon. So my thoughts have turned to our (Spurs) season and how the current players fit into the parthenon of Tottenham Hotspur greats. Its a bit of a classic pub or family gathering type conversation. You're all sitting there talking about football, whether it be good, bad or just downright England at an International tournament and someone is guaranteed to pop up and ask the question 'So, who would be in your all time <insert favourite team>  XI then'? It doesn't matter whether you and your family or group of mates follow Real Madrid or Forest Green, what will ensue is discussion, sometimes heated, regarding the merits of the clubs all time record goalscorer over his modern day counterpart or whether you should be able to include that amazing French centre back who only stayed for one season because his wife got homesick in preference to the one club man who w...

Its now just over 24hrs since Jon Moss blew the final whistle that brought to an end 118 years of football at White Hart Lane. We had the good natured pitch invasion, with literally thousands of selfies being posted on social media, people doing 'Klinsmann' dives, grown men on their knees kissing the turf and repeated requests over the PA system to 'return to your seats' so they the Gospel Choir could sing and then they could bring on the Legends. Spurs Stewards didn't have the easiest of days Starting with Clive Allen and ending with Chris Waddle, forty-eight of the clubs favourite sons took the short but for some, difficult walk to the centre of the pitch for their last hurrah. We clapped and cheered like small children on Christmas morning as Tottenham greats such as Glenn Hoddle, Gary Mabbutt and Pat Jennings strolled across our sacred turf for the last time. All of us who follow Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have known for a while that this day would come. Or more specifically, Sunday 14th May 2017 when Manchester United are the visitors to one of the best known and iconic football grounds in the world, White Hart Lane. The game is due to kick off at 4.30pm so sometime around 6.25pm referee Jon Moss (no not the former Culture Club drummer, although he'd more than likely be just as good) will blow the final whistle and therefore bring to an end 118 years of the clubs history. There's going to be a celebratory ceremony after the match ends. Hopefully Spurs will have avoided defeat meaning that for the grand old lady's last hurrah, we'd have managed to go unbeaten at home all season. Of course, depending on what happens at the Hawthorns on Friday night it may still be mathmatically possible to catch Chelsea in the 'Race For The Title' but most of us think thats highly unlikely.
